A couple of weeks ago I had three funerals within the scale of seven days and two of them were members of our congregation, last Sunday I baptised a child, yesterday I was in the local school for a meeting and then in the afternoon I was at Barlinnie Prison for a multi-disciplinary team meeting there and in a couple of weeks’ time I'll be travelling to Dumfries to conduct the marriage ceremony of one of my members and his fiancé. This caused me to reflect on the variety of situations in which a minister can find him or herself. Upon reflection it also caused me to think about the relevance of faith. Faith is involved in all aspects of our lives, the ups and downs, the highs and lows and as a result can help to bring great meaning and depth to the great events and times of our lives: from birth to death and all the bits in between.
